Facial wrinkles smoothed with light and green tea: new wrinkle treatment

German scientists have developed an amazing new treatment for facial wrinkles, involving high intensity light from light emitting diodes (LEDs), and a green tea lotion.

They believe that this new treatment could be an alternative to treatments like Botox, and even an alternative to plastic surgery.

LED Light And Green Tea Cream Smooth Facial Wrinkles reports:

“They applied a daily combination of LED light and green tea extract to the facial wrinkles of a human volunteer one month. The combination treatment resulted in smoother skin, including ‘less pronounced wrinkle levels, shorter wrinkle valleys, and juvenile complexion,’ the scientists say.”

Green tea extracts are occasionally used in cosmetics and skin care products, and of course, green tea is healthy too.

If you’ve avoided Botox, this treatment provides an alternative; it’s an exciting innovation.

Green tea: can it help your skin?

Green tea has many health benefits. But is it good for your skin?

What green tea can and cannot do for your skin. reports:

“There have been a number of encouraging studies of skin benefits of green tea. Animal studies showed protection from skin cancer. Both animal and human studies have credibly demonstrated that topical green tea formulations reduce sun damage. Green tea appears to exert sun damage protection by quenching free radicals and reducing inflammation rather than by blocking UV rays. Therefore, green tea may synergistically enhance sun protection when used in addition to a sunscreen.”

I’ve noticed that some skin care lines have included green tea in their product formulations over the past few years.

Drinking a few cups of green tea each day is good for your overall health, so enjoy green tea knowing it’s good for you.
