Many new anti wrinkle products are being launched this year, with new natural ingredients which mimic Botox.

Power to the peptides reports: “Hydrolyzed hibiscus escelentus extract provides a comprehensive anti-aging solution as its muscle freezing quality is complemented by anti free radical action, according to Cognis, a company that markets the ingredient under the name myoxinol.

Acetyl hexapeptide is marketed as argireline by Spanish ingredients provider Lipotec, which claims the substance interferes with a receptor complex necessary for the fusion of neurotransmitter containing vesicles to the membrane surface. This in turn prevents muscle contraction and therefore the formation of wrinkles, says Lipotec. “

If the thought of Botox injections doesn’t appeal, keep an eye out for these new line-smoothing ingredients in products appearing this year.

Cleanliness is vital for skin care.

This article Skin Deep-New Year’s resolutions - New York Times gives you some great advice on skin care for 2008.

Some of the tips are simple - wash your face: “Doctors say that skin picks up environmental debris during the day. Washing off minute dirt particles, along with makeup, every evening gives the skin a rest from exposure to possible irritants.

‘As a general hygiene principle, it’s good to wash your face at night,’ Dr. Sundaram said. ‘But if you apply a greasy night cream after that, it is just going to clog your pores.’”

Another great tip is to discard old, used beauty products. Bacteria grows in opened jars, so throw out jars you’ve had for a year, and haven’t finished.

If you’re using Athena 7-Minute Lift, you need products which are compatible with it.
“Look 10 Years Younger By Christmas: Athena 7-Minute Lift Revisited” reports:

Facial skin may become dry if you’re using Athena, and oil based products really impair the performance of the Lift. My compromise solution, although it may not give me the tightest facelift on the block, is to use a rich night cream, Trienelle Nightly Restoration Formula. It is water-based, but contains several natural skin oils and vitamins, that moisturizes skin without being greasy. A 50 ml jar costs $55 and lasts about two months, if used sparingly. (Hint: Leave face slightly damp before applying.)

The article offers some great solutions so that your skin will lose its wrinkles, become more youthful, and glow - all within a month.
