Want an easy skin care tip? Try looking in your kitchen

Here is an inexpensive skin care tip for you. Before you pay a lot for the latest skin cream, try looking in your kitchen for products that work just as well. Here are some examples.

Did you know that you can use baking soda to treat a sun burn or a razor burn? Soak a cotton ball in a mixture of baking soda and water and apply it to a sunburn or razor burn. It really does help relieve the sting.

Butter is great to use as a shaving cream. Your razor will glide right over the skin for a close shave and your skin will get moisturized too.

Lemon is a natural bleach, so you can use it to lighten age spots. You can also mix lemon juice and water to soak your roughened hands.

If you want a facial but don’t have the time or money to go to a salon, try spreading mayonnaise on your face. (Be sure to use the egg-based “real” mayonnaise.) Leave it on your face for 30 minutes, and then rinse it off.

We all know milk is good for healthy bones, but you can also use it for healthy skin. Pour some powdered milk in your bath water and be amazed at how much softer your skin becomes. You can also use powdered milk and water to remove your makeup.

Many people use an astringent to deep clean their skin because of the tingly sensation that lets them know it’s working. You can get the same tingle by applying mustard to your face for an inexpensive facial.

If your eyes are puffy, put some raw, sliced potatoes on them for a few minutes. It works quickly and is surprisingly soothing.

You can make your own bath salts by using – what else? – salt. Just pour ordinary table salt in your bath water to noticeably soften your skin. While your bath water won’t have the scent or color of commercially prepared bath salts, it won’t leave the tell-tale ring in your tub either.

Wrinkle Cream

Sunbathing is a no-no but that golden glow is so attractive. You can get that look, without the health risks, by applying cool black tea to your skin. The easiest way to assure an even look is to use a spray bottle. You can also use tea to sooth sunburn or razor burn.

Vinegar is well-known for its many uses around the home, but you can also use it to beautify your skin. For example, dab it on itchy areas, such as bug bites, sunburns or calluses. It also makes a wonderful toner: Apply equal parts vinegar and water to your face. It will soon be cleaner and tighter. You can also use vinegar to bleach out age spots by regularly applying vinegar.

See? You can have a spa vacation by just using what you find in your kitchen. Your skin will be clear and healthy and you will have a golden glow from knowing you saved a lot of money.
