Deep Wrinkle Treatment: A Treatment That Really Works

Wouldn’t you love to find a deep wrinkle treatment that really works? Wouldn’t it be even better to find such a treatment that wouldn’t break the bank or require surgery? Fortunately there is such a treatment.

First, a little bit about deep wrinkles and why they occur. Unfortunately, you can’t completely avoid wrinkles because they come with aging. Once we pass the age of 30, our bodies don’t produce as much collagen or elastin, two proteins that make the skin flexible.

As the dermis layer of the skin becomes less flexible, the rest of the skin begins to sag. Thus, deep wrinkles form.

Fortunately, you can add collagen and elastin to your face and neck yourself. You can use one of the many products available at your nearest cosmetics counter or you can try this home remedy: Mash some pineapple or papaya and add a few drops of honey. Apply this mixture to your face and let it soak in for 10 to 15 minutes before rinsing it off thoroughly.

You may also apply several different oils to your face, each of which is an effective deep wrinkle treatment. These include coconut oil, flaxseed oil, olive oil and vitamin E oil. Most of these are readily available at your grocery store or drug store. They moisturize your face to reduce the wrinkles you already have and prevent new ones from forming.

If you cannot find vitamin E oil you may also get effective results for your deep wrinkles by applying mashed avocado to your face for about 25 minutes before rinsing it off. Avocados are rich in vitamin E which books collagen production and also repairs damaged skin cells. It is also a good source of Vitamin A that increases moisture in the skin.

Deep wrinkles are not only caused by the aging process, they are also enhanced by toxins in the air. So it is essential to regularly cleanse your skin to eliminate those toxins before they damage your face. One way to do so is to apply plain yogurt daily to your skin. Yogurt is anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It also moisturizes and exfoliates your skin so your appearance will be more radiant.

Each of these products is an excellent deep wrinkle treatment that can be used alone or with the other methods. If you use them consistently, you will soon see results. But in order to maintain your results, you should also take care to:

1. Wear sunscreen whenever you go outside.

2. Never use products that contain soap or alcohol on your face as each of these can dry your skin.

3. Drink at least eight 8-oz glasses of water daily.

4. Always wear sunglasses and have your eyes checked regularly in order to prevent squinting.

5. Get plenty of sleep.

6. If you smoke, stop. Likewise, limit your consumption of alcohol.

7. Wear a moisturizer designed for your skin type every day.

These steps will go a long way toward making your deep wrinkles less prominent. Try them and you’ll find you don’t have to resort to Botox or expensive surgical procedures to get a deep wrinkle treatment that really works.

Retinol Cream: Can it Make You Look Younger?

Retinol cream is emerging as a great skin care product. While it has often been used to treat acne, many people are also claiming it eliminates the effects of aging. Can retinol cream really make you look younger?

Retinol cream is a form of Vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin found in fish oils, liver and other animal products. Manufactured forms are also available and may be known as retinoids, tritonin and retinyl palimitate. It is similar to Retin-A, a well-known brand name of the acid form of retinol, and has been shown to stimulate cell growth. It is also an anti-oxidant, neutralizing free radicals that can lead to cancer.

Many people prefer retinol to other moisturizers because it can pass through the upper layers of skin and help stimulate the production of elastin and collagen, two proteins that contribute to skin flexibility and rigidity. While the body produces these proteins, production lessens as we age, leading to the appearance of lines and wrinkles. By using retinol creams regularly, it is possible to see improvement in as little as three months.

Because it is so effective, people with sensitive skin should be careful when using retinol. Start by using a product with a small amount of retinol and use only a small amount of it, until you see how your skin reacts. Retinol can be drying, resulting in flaky skin. (Pregnant women should not use retinol as it is known to cause birth defects.) Also, apply retinol at night because sunlight can make these creams less effective.

Retinol creams are available over the counter and by prescription. Of course, prescription strength formulas are stronger. No matter which form you use, be sure to follow directions carefully to avoid skin irritation. Look for products that also contain glycolic acid, hydroxyl acid and/or Vitamin C as these are known to make retinol cream more effective. Wear sunscreen whenever you use retinol cream as it has been proven to increase skin sensitivity.

So, how does retinol help you to look younger? It helps in many ways. First, it helps stimulate cell renewal, so you will look young longer. Second, it helps tighten skin, helping to reduce wrinkles and the size of pores. Third, it helps make skin softer.

In addition to acne, wrinkles and fine lines, these products have been shown to help in the treatment of acne scars, dermatitis, rosacea and warts.

People who want to reduce their wrinkles and prevent additional signs of aging can follow several other common-sense healthy steps in addition to using these creams: Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and avoid junk food. Drink at least eight glasses of water each day to flush out toxins. Sleep at least six to eight hours every night and avoid tobacco products and alcohol, both of which can affect the skin.

Consider adding stress relief measures, such as exercise, prayer, meditation and yoga to prevent worry lines and frowns. Always wear a sunscreen and moisturize and exfoliate your skin regularly.

Although retinol creams tend to be more expensive than other skin care products, the cost is worth it because they have proven truly effective in making skin look younger and better.

Dermabrasion procedures: Are they safe?

Dermabrasion is a popular method of getting younger, smoother skin. However, terms like abrasion, skin resurfacing and skin scraping may sound threatening to those considering these procedures. Are they safe?

The answer, as with many medical procedures, is yes. That is, if you take care to go to a qualified professional and follow pre- and post-procedure instructions carefully. Dermabrasion is usually performed by a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon. If there is a doctor you are considering for the procedure, ask how many dermabrasion procedures he or she has performed and the success rate. Ask about possible complications, such as risk of scarring, infection and of changes in skin pigment, which are the most common risks of the procedure.

Also ask what equipment is used in the procedure. Most often, he or she will use a rough wire brush or a burr with diamond particles to scrape away skin. Then he or she will apply some other treatment, such as ointments or dressings. When you leave the doctor’s office, the treated area will be red and swollen, a condition that will last a few days, followed by a scabby crust that forms to protect the new skin underneath. Your skin may feel itchy and sensitive for several weeks as it heals. Most experts say patients can return to work in two weeks and to active sports in four to six weeks. Many recommend an annual maintenance treatment.

Depending on a variety of factors, dermabrasion can improve skin’s appearance by 20 to 50 percent and the results are considered permanent, so it is a great choice if you want to remove tattoos or acne scars. However, it won’t prevent new wrinkles from forming.

Those who are put off by the downtime of dermabrasion might want to consider microdermabrasion instead. This procedure can be done by a plastic surgeon or dermatologist, a trained employee of a spa or salon or even by you at home. It involves using a hand-held instrument or specially formulated creams or lotions that exfoliate your skin. There are several different types available, depending on what you would like to accomplish.

To choose microdermabrasion products, you should consider your complexion. Is your skin blotchy and dull? Also consider your pores. Are they clogged or enlarged? Do you have whiteheads or blackheads? Next, consider your skin tone. Is it even throughout? You also need to consider your skin’s surface. Do you have a lot of wrinkles, fine lines or acne scars?

Once you’ve considered these factors, you should choose products that address those particular needs. Most importantly, you should consider your skin’s sensitivity. When you choose a product, try it in an inconspicuous place, such as behind an ear, to make sure your skin is not allergic to it. (Keep your receipt and try to return it if you do have a reaction.)

Once you find a product you like, take note of the brand and use it as often as directed to continue getting good results.

Dermabrasion and microdermabrasion are safe and effective ways to get beautiful skin as long as you use common sense and follow instructions to the letter.

Organic Skin Care Products: 3 Benefits for You

Choosing to use an organic skin care product is a great step toward helping you look and feel great. Here are three benefits for using each organic skin care product.

1. Better health. Apparently the average woman applies more than 200 chemicals by using skin care products every day. Of these, 60 percent get absorbed into the bloodstream. While most beauty and skin care products are tested for safety, who knows what effects all these chemicals can have down the road, even years from now?

In order to be certified organic, an organic skin care product must be made with ingredients not subject to toxic chemicals. It must have at least 95 percent organic ingredients, so you don’t have to wonder what they are doing to your body.

2. Save money. Because an organic skin care product must be made without toxins, there are many recipes for these products that you can make yourself, using ingredients you may have in your kitchen already. We are all aware of how expensive skin care products are;. Wouldn’t it be great to look fabulous without spending all that money on yet another product to sit in your medicine cabinet? Look up some easy recipes that take care of your problem spots.

In addition, because many of these organic products are made from food items, they can do double duty: Use two cucumber slices on your eyes and put the rest in your lunch salad. Use sour cream and or yogurt to exfoliate and moisturize your skin and use the rest on your baked potato.

3. Confidence. By using an organic skin care product, you can be assured that you know exactly what you are putting on your face each day. If you are environmentally conscious (and who isn’t these days), you can rest easy, know that your daily efforts to look your best haven’t inadvertently endangered animals (via product testing) or the environment (with unnecessary packaging destined for a landfill). You will likely look even better using organic skin care products you will have an additional glow from this knowledge.

Now that you know the three main benefits of organic skin care, you should look into products and recipes that meet your needs. There are many books and websites that offer these easy recipes.

If you choose to buy products rather than make them yourself, look for those products that are certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture or the particular standard of your country, such as Standards Australia. Many people use the words “organic” and “natural” interchangeably and you need to be aware of what you are putting on your delicate skin.

Also be sure to read product reviews to make sure that the product will be worth the money you will be spending on it. Follow product directions carefully, including storage tips. Organic products will not have preservatives and thus will be subject to spoilage.

By using an organic skin care product, you will be doing the very best for your health, your budget and your appearance.

Moisturizers for wrinkle treatment: often your lines

Moisturizers are the easiest, least expensive wrinkle treatment available. There are many products on the market that will help your face feel softer and at the same time make you look years younger.

In fact, a British consumer group, Which?, has found that that a readily available moisturizer performed just as well as anti-wrinkle creams costing 60 times as much, according to a report in The Daily Mail.

According to the article, 12 products were compared in the six-week-long study on subjects between the ages of 35 and 65. Before and after photos were taken and analyzed by five skin-care experts in a blind study, meaning they did not know which creams were used.

The fact that an over the counter moisturizer performed just as well as high-end wrinkle creams is encouraging news to those of us who must count our pennies but still want to look younger. However, at least one dermatologist has criticized the study, noting that moisturizers and anti-wrinkle creams perform different functions.

San Francisco dermatologist Kathleen M. Welsh, M.D. said that while moisturizers do reduce the appearance of wrinkles, it is only for the short term because moisturizers are not intended to be wrinkle treatment. Welsh said prescription-strength anti-wrinkle creams treat existing wrinkles and prevent new ones from appearing. She added that these creams work over many months, even years, thus a six-week-long study was not sufficient time to make a true comparison.

So where does that leave the rest of us? By all means use a moisturizer. It will help your skin look moist and hydrated, thus softening the appearance of your existing wrinkles. When you get up in the morning, use a daytime moisturizer with sun protection factor to protect your skin against the various pollutants that attack your skin every day. When it’s time for bed, apply a nighttime moisturizer that will soak in to the deeper layers of your skin.

Over time, consistent use of these moisturizers will make a difference in your wrinkles. However, if you think you need some extra care, consider using a wrinkle cream with a moisturizer built right in. Wrinkle creams are different from moisturizers as they actually tone the skin’s surface (that is, clean out dirt and oil) in addition to moisturizing it. To really treat wrinkles deep down, you may also need to use a wrinkle serum, which stimulates the body’s production of elastin and collagen, two proteins that help the skin’s flexibility.

Finding the right product for your face is a matter of trial and error. Your best bet is to start with the least expensive products at the drugstore or the cosmetics counter. Be sure to apply them correctly, according to package directions. Apply them in a circular motion, gently working your way up your neck and face and from the outer corner of each eye to the center. One tip: apply moisturizer while your face is still damp to keep your skin extra hydrated.

Moisturizers are an important and effective way to keep wrinkles at bay. Use them regularly and give watch the years melt off your face.

Skin Tightening Products: Facial Creams to Firm and Lift

Skin tightening facial creams are an easy, convenient way to firm and lift your face. But, as we all know, there are many skin tightening products, from very inexpensive products to those that seem to cost a small fortune. How do you know which products are right for you?

First of all, you should look at the ingredients. While many of these creams will have “secret formulas” designed to make your face look instantly younger, many of themare unproven. Three ingredients that have been proven to work are Cynergy TK, Wakame and Coenzyme Q10.

Cynergy TK is extracted from New Zealand sheep and has been proven to help with the body’s production of collagen and elastin, proteins that give your skin flexibility. (While the body produces its own collagen and elastin, as our bodies age, collagen production can’t keep up, thus wrinkles begin.)

Wakame comes from a variety of Japanese sea kelp and is a staple in the Japanese diet because it is high in calcium. This anti-oxidant prevents free radicals from bonding to your skin tissue, thus preventing aging.

Coenzyme Q10 is an oil-soluble, vitamin-like substance found in many fish. It has also been proven to help with collagen production.

Finding skin tightening creams with any of these products will go a long way toward making your face look younger and firmer. Of course, you must use them consistently and according to package directions.

Start by finding the least expensive of these products. Try each one for a few days on a small patch of skin that is unnoticeable, to be sure you are not allergic to it. If after a few days, you see no signs of rashes, redness, itchiness, etc., try the product for about six weeks. If you see improvement in your face, great. If not, then try a different product. Everyone’s skin reacts differently to different products; so unfortunately, it may take some time to find the right product for you.

One easy and cheap way to tightening your facial skin is make your own facial cream with beaten egg whites: Carefully separate out the whites from two eggs and beat them until fluffy. Apply them to your face and rest for 30 minutes and then rinse with cool water. Pat dry. You’ll be amazed at how much better your face will look and feel.

It is also important to realize that no skin tightening cream offers permanent results. You may see great effects for a few hours or a few days, but sooner or later, the sagging and wrinkles will come back. That’s why you must use the creams consistently.

In addition to these creams, there are many things you can do to keep a youthful appearance:

1. Take your vitamins, especially A, B-complex, C and E.
2. Stop smoking (if you do) and don’t drink excessively.
3. Sleep on your back.
4. Wear good glasses, contacts and/or sunglasses, so you won’t squint.
5. Stay out of the sun.
6. Don’t use soap on your face and wash it with cool water, rather than hot.
7. Apply a moisturizer every day. It will hide the smaller wrinkles on the skin.

If you take the time to look at the ingredients, skin tightening creams are a quick, affordable way to improve your appearance.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Products: 3 Anti-Agers that Work

Anti-aging skin care products are very hot right now. We all want to look like Demi Moore, Cher and other celebrities who never seem to age a day. Fortunately, you don’t have to have a celebrity budget in order to look years younger. Here are three anti-agers that work that are readily available at your local drugstore.

1. A daytime moisturizer with sunscreen. We have all heard the dangers of staying out in the sun too long. But did you know that the sun can do its damage even while you are indoors? Yet, many of us don’t like using sunscreens because they can feel heavy on the face.

Look for a daytime moisturizer with a broad-spectrum sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or more. The best kinds contain ingredients that boost the body’s production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that make the skin flexible and supple.

2. A night time moisturizer. Everyone should use a moisturizer at night. That’s when you can use a heavy duty arsenal of anti-aging skin care products, letting them soak right into your skin all night long. For best results, look for products that contain Vitamins A, B-complex, C and E.

3. A high-quality eye cream. Nothing makes you look older faster than eyes surrounded by crow’s feet. While these “laugh lines” may be unavoidable, you can minimize them by using a good eye cream. Look for eye creams designed to moisturize the delicate skin around the eyes and plump it up both morning and evening.

By using these three products you will go a long way toward looking younger. However, just as important as using these products consistently is using them correctly. There is a right and wrong way to apply anti aging skin care products.

For example, when applying eye makeup and eye creams, always apply just a tiny amount at the outer corner of the eye. Then, gently dab it in a circular motion toward the inner eye. Don’t rub it in or you could damage the skin and cause more wrinkles.

On the other hand, for face creams, start with the middle of the face and work outward and upward, using small circular motions. Don’t forget to apply facial cream to the neck. Start at the base of the neck and use circular motions gently move upward.

There are several other things you can do to look instantly younger. For example, start with your hair. Did you know that pulling it back away from your face automatically makes you look years younger? Try pulling your hair back in a pony tail and see what happens.

Also use cream based cosmetics as these tend to moisturize your skin. Powder based makeup tends to settle into fine lines and wrinkles, thus emphasizing them.

Lastly take care of yourself. Stick to a healthy diet, drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep and exercise. By treating yourself well and using anti-aging skin care products carefully, you will look and feel younger and better.

Wrinkle Treatments with Facial Rejuvenation: Improve Your Skin

Wrinkle treatments with facial rejuvenation are popular methods to improve your skin and look younger. From facial creams to skin resurfacing to surgical procedures, there are a variety of options available, one of which is likely just what you are looking for.

Among the many types of wrinkle treatments available, among the most popular are: collagen or Botox injections, facelifts, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser skin resurfacing and wrinkle creams.

Of these, wrinkle creams are probably the most popular because they are the less invasive. Many are available over the counter although there are many that are offered by prescription only from a licensed dermatologist.

Chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing are methods to erase fine lines, dry skin patches, freckles and blotchiness. They can also be used to correct scars. Many of these can be done with over the counter products in the privacy of your own home. These are similar to procedures that may be performed in a dermatologist’s office or at a beauty salon or day spa.
Collagen injections are used to fill in wrinkles or sunken facial areas while Botox injections paralyze selected facial muscles to relax them, thus reducing wrinkles.

There are a variety of facelift procedures available to treat specific areas: the forehead, eyebrows, nose chin and neck. These are surgical procedures that can last five to 15 years depending on the procedure.

With so many options available, how do you choose which wrinkle treatments are best for you? First of all, look in the mirror and decide what you want changed. Do you have facial scars or freckles that you dislike? Are you tired of those crow’s feet or that double chin? Do you have parentheses around your mouth that are making you look older?

Next, consider whether you know anyone who has had facial rejuvenation work done. Do you like the results? Ask him or her about the work they had done and who performed it. Were they satisfied? Were there any side effects? Would they recommend the procedure or the product?

If you decide to proceed with an over the counter wrinkle treatment, read product reviews to determine whether it is within your price range and whether it is a treatment you can and would do consistently to retain the results.

If you decide to undergo a surgical procedure, consult a qualified dermatologist or a plastic surgeon. Ask about his or her credentials. You should also ask about costs, side effects and recovery times. Most facial rejuvenation procedures are not truly permanent so you should ask how often the procedure would need to be repeated. Definitely ask to see before and after photos to be sure that the results are what you want.

Keep in mind that most wrinkle treatment procedures are not covered by insurance and prices can range from about $400 for a collagen or Botox injection to about $5,000 for a facelift.

Wrinkle treatments are a multi-billion dollar industry with many options to suit your particular needs. With such a wide range of choices, why not consider how to improve your skin today?

Fast Wrinkle Treatments with Facial Fillers

If you are seeking a wrinkle treatment for your face, you have many options. One of the most exciting of these options is facial fillers. These injections can erase years off your face fast. Imagine going to work tomorrow looking younger than you did today.

Facial fillers can be used in a variety of ways. They can erase smile and/or frown lines, plump up your lips or cheeks and erase scars. Whatís more, they are fast acting and have few complications.

There are many types of fillers, some, like collagen, hyaluronic acid and hydroxylapatite are derived from materials already found in the body. There are even some facial fillers derived from abdominal fat.

(Yes, you can actually get a tummy tuck and use that fat as a wrinkle treatment for your face.) Others, like polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) are made with man-made materials. Dermatologists generally have their preferred fillers for different facial areas.

When you meet with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon, he or she will evaluate your face and skin tone. At the appointed time for your treatment your face will be cleaned and marked for the appropriate injections. You may be given a topical anesthetic, or the wrinkle treatment may contain one. Each actual injection takes only minutes to administer before the face is cleansed of its markings and you are sent on your way. Most people who undergo this treatment feel little, if any discomfort.

In most cases, you can return to work the day after a facial filler injection, though there may be minor swelling or bruises. Facial fillers derived from your body fat may require about a weekís recovery time.

While facial fillers provide instant results, unfortunately, they are not permanent. Generally, the least expensive versions, such as those derived from pig collagen or hyaluronic acid, last between 6 to 12 weeks. Longer lasting versions (usually those derived from man-made materials) can last more than a year. These products do not stop the aging process permanently and it is up to you whether to repeat the process.

Generally facial fillers are not covered by insurance and costs vary depending on the type of material used: For example, Restylane lasts about six months and costs about $500 per syringe. Meanwhile longer lasting materials can cost more than $1200 per syringe. (Generally patients must buy the whole syringe of filler material as the remainder cannot be used for another personís procedure.)

Naturally as with any medical procedure, you will want to be sure you are under the care of a highly qualified dermatologist. While there are few, if any, side effects, some people can be allergic to man-made fillers and if the injection is poorly administered, the site can become infected. (Over time, some fillers can shift or form clumps that may need to be surgically treated.)

Is this kind of wrinkle treatment worth it? It is if you want a younger looking face instantly. When you consider that you can look dramatically better for a few hundred dollars, injectable fillers are worthy of consideration.

Skin Care Products for Non-Surgical Wrinkle Treatments

Skin care products abound for getting rid of wrinkles. But how do you know which ones are best for you?

First you need to understand how wrinkles form. As we age, the body produces less elastin and collagen, the proteins that make facial muscles flexible and resilient. Thus the skin is less able to bounce back whenever we smile or frown. The more our facial muscles move, the more the wrinkles and lines from our facial expressions are etched into the face.

Some people who want to remove or at least reduce lines and wrinkles resort to surgery to look younger. However, you don’t have to resort to such drastic or costly treatment. There are plenty of skin care products that will greatly improve your skin.

The most important product to use is a moisturizer. Everyone should use a moisturizer daily, perhaps several times a day. In the daytime, apply a moisturizer with a sunscreen. This will help protect your face from further sun damage.

At night, you should also use a moisturizer. There are many night creams on the market that soak in overnight so you’ll wake up with younger looking skin in the morning.

Everyone, young and old, should be careful to clean the face daily but if you are concerned about wrinkles be careful to never your skin care products containing soap, which can be far too drying. Watch for skin cleansers made specifically for dry skin and follow the package directions carefully.

If you are especially concerned about wrinkles around your eyes, there are many eye creams that go a long way toward reducing them. Be sure to gently pat the cream into the area moving from the outer corner to the inner corner (by the nose). Not only will you be applying the product, you will also be giving your face a quick massage that gently smoothes out light wrinkles.

When shopping for makeup, avoid oil- or cream-based foundation as these tend to cake up in the wrinkles, thus emphasizing them. Instead, lightly pat on powder based foundation.

You would do well when shopping for skin care products to look for those enriched with vitamins, such as Vitamin A, C and E. Also be sure to get plenty of these vitamins in your diet. You can get them from fresh fruit, green leafy vegetables and carrots. Also eat plenty of foods rich in B-complex vitamins, which are found in whole grains, beef, chicken and eggs.

You may never have thought of eyeglasses and sunglasses as wrinkle treatments, but they are. Many people don’t realize how much they squint and how much squinting leads to wrinkles. Make sure you have adequate eye protection and you will reduce wrinkles as well.

There are many skin care products that will help you look younger. To find the best ones, read product reviews online to make sure they really work. Quite often the less expensive products work just as well, if not better than, the more expensive varieties. Be consistent in using the right products for your skin regularly and you will soon look as young as you feel.
