Skin Cleansers for Aging Skin
Skin cleansers for aging skin are a tricky proposition: Many skin cleansers contain soap or other products that can really dry out your skin, resulting in additional wrinkles. Here are some tips that you can safely use without looking older than you really are.
1. Look for skin cleansers that are unscented. This is especially true if you have sensitive skin. Fragrant cleansers can irritate your face.
2. Look for products that are alcohol-free. Alcohol is really drying to the skin.
3. Buy products that contain alpha hydroxy acid. This is an exfoliant that gently removes the dead skin cells from your face. It also stimulates collagen and elastin production. Collagen and elastin are two proteins, naturally produced by your body, that makes your skin more flexible. Some forms of alpha hydroxyl acid are citric, glycolic and lactic acids.
4. Before you apply the skin cleanser, use alcohol-free, unscented baby wipes to gently remove all makeup from your face. If it’s gentle enough to use on a baby’s skin, it’s gentle enough for your face.
5. Only use the amount of cleanser indicated on the package. Alpha hydroxyl acid can make your skin red or irritated if you use too much of it.
6. Apply skin cleansers correctly. Use a gentle, circular motion, working up from the neck. Rinse off as directed with warm water and pat dry with a towel. Never rub your skin or else you may cause new wrinkles.
Even if the skin cleanser you’re using says to wipe it off with a tissue, always rinse your face thoroughly with warm water to be sure you remove all of the cleanser.
7. Use a moisturizer. If the skin cleanser you choose does not already contain a moisturizer, apply one immediately after your have cleaned your skin.
Finding the right skin cleansers for your face will take some trial and error. Read product reviews to find out if others have had good results. Take a minute to read the directions: If they are too long and complicated, would you really use the product consistently? Also be sure the product fits your budget: The most expensive skin cleansers are not necessarily the best ones.
If you are in the mood to experiment, try applying flaxseed oil, grape seed oil or olive oil to your skin. Add some essential oils to the other oils for a lovely scent. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry. You will be amazed at how soft and smooth your skin looks and feels.
Another great homemade skin cleanser is mayonnaise (or Miracle Whip). Apply it to your face, leave it on for about 10 minutes, and then gently massage it into your face. Rinse it off with warm water and pat dry. (Be aware that there will be a strong vinegar scent when it is on your face.)
When protecting your skin from the effects of aging, it is equally important to choose the right skin cleansers and to apply them properly. When you do so, get ready for all the compliments you will get on your great skin.

Organic Skin Care Products: 3 Benefits for You
Choosing to use an organic skin care product is a great step toward helping you look and feel great. Here are three benefits for using each organic skin care product.
1. Better health. Apparently the average woman applies more than 200 chemicals by using skin care products every day. Of these, 60 percent get absorbed into the bloodstream. While most beauty and skin care products are tested for safety, who knows what effects all these chemicals can have down the road, even years from now?
In order to be certified organic, an organic skin care product must be made with ingredients not subject to toxic chemicals. It must have at least 95 percent organic ingredients, so you don’t have to wonder what they are doing to your body.
2. Save money. Because an organic skin care product must be made without toxins, there are many recipes for these products that you can make yourself, using ingredients you may have in your kitchen already. We are all aware of how expensive skin care products are;. Wouldn’t it be great to look fabulous without spending all that money on yet another product to sit in your medicine cabinet? Look up some easy recipes that take care of your problem spots.
In addition, because many of these organic products are made from food items, they can do double duty: Use two cucumber slices on your eyes and put the rest in your lunch salad. Use sour cream and or yogurt to exfoliate and moisturize your skin and use the rest on your baked potato.
3. Confidence. By using an organic skin care product, you can be assured that you know exactly what you are putting on your face each day. If you are environmentally conscious (and who isn’t these days), you can rest easy, know that your daily efforts to look your best haven’t inadvertently endangered animals (via product testing) or the environment (with unnecessary packaging destined for a landfill). You will likely look even better using organic skin care products you will have an additional glow from this knowledge.
Now that you know the three main benefits of organic skin care, you should look into products and recipes that meet your needs. There are many books and websites that offer these easy recipes.
If you choose to buy products rather than make them yourself, look for those products that are certified organic by the U.S. Department of Agriculture or the particular standard of your country, such as Standards Australia. Many people use the words “organic” and “natural” interchangeably and you need to be aware of what you are putting on your delicate skin.
Also be sure to read product reviews to make sure that the product will be worth the money you will be spending on it. Follow product directions carefully, including storage tips. Organic products will not have preservatives and thus will be subject to spoilage.
By using an organic skin care product, you will be doing the very best for your health, your budget and your appearance.
Skin Tightening Products: Facial Creams to Firm and Lift
Skin tightening facial creams are an easy, convenient way to firm and lift your face. But, as we all know, there are many skin tightening products, from very inexpensive products to those that seem to cost a small fortune. How do you know which products are right for you?
First of all, you should look at the ingredients. While many of these creams will have “secret formulas” designed to make your face look instantly younger, many of themare unproven. Three ingredients that have been proven to work are Cynergy TK, Wakame and Coenzyme Q10.
Cynergy TK is extracted from New Zealand sheep and has been proven to help with the body’s production of collagen and elastin, proteins that give your skin flexibility. (While the body produces its own collagen and elastin, as our bodies age, collagen production can’t keep up, thus wrinkles begin.)
Wakame comes from a variety of Japanese sea kelp and is a staple in the Japanese diet because it is high in calcium. This anti-oxidant prevents free radicals from bonding to your skin tissue, thus preventing aging.
Coenzyme Q10 is an oil-soluble, vitamin-like substance found in many fish. It has also been proven to help with collagen production.
Finding skin tightening creams with any of these products will go a long way toward making your face look younger and firmer. Of course, you must use them consistently and according to package directions.
Start by finding the least expensive of these products. Try each one for a few days on a small patch of skin that is unnoticeable, to be sure you are not allergic to it. If after a few days, you see no signs of rashes, redness, itchiness, etc., try the product for about six weeks. If you see improvement in your face, great. If not, then try a different product. Everyone’s skin reacts differently to different products; so unfortunately, it may take some time to find the right product for you.
One easy and cheap way to tightening your facial skin is make your own facial cream with beaten egg whites: Carefully separate out the whites from two eggs and beat them until fluffy. Apply them to your face and rest for 30 minutes and then rinse with cool water. Pat dry. You’ll be amazed at how much better your face will look and feel.
It is also important to realize that no skin tightening cream offers permanent results. You may see great effects for a few hours or a few days, but sooner or later, the sagging and wrinkles will come back. That’s why you must use the creams consistently.
In addition to these creams, there are many things you can do to keep a youthful appearance:
1. Take your vitamins, especially A, B-complex, C and E.
2. Stop smoking (if you do) and don’t drink excessively.
3. Sleep on your back.
4. Wear good glasses, contacts and/or sunglasses, so you won’t squint.
5. Stay out of the sun.
6. Don’t use soap on your face and wash it with cool water, rather than hot.
7. Apply a moisturizer every day. It will hide the smaller wrinkles on the skin.
If you take the time to look at the ingredients, skin tightening creams are a quick, affordable way to improve your appearance.
Skin care: get more from your products with facial skin machine

If you’ve ever felt that you’re not getting the most from your skin care products, here’s a machine which offers a non-surgical facelift.
Non-Surgical Facelift Solution Launched by Best Skin Care World reports:
“The reason why many skin care products give disappointing results is due to the protective barrier of the skin. The majority of people don’t realize that the skin interferes with the absorption of nourishment products such as creams and lotions. Most expensive skin care products merely lay on the surface of the skin where it becomes useless.
With this new facial machine, skin ingredients such as vitamin C or anti-oxidants can now penetrate deep into the skin. This facial machine enhances the absorption of nutrients by bringing the nourishing products deep into the skin using the anode (+) and the cathode (-) of electric currents. This facial machine helps reduce wrinkles, sagging skin, and is also recommended for firming and lifting of the skin.”
It sounds like a great idea: get your expensive wrinkle treatments to activate the deepest skin layer, and get the most benefit.
Skin care means sun protection: knowing your SP factors

As we get older, we pay the penalty for being sun-lovers in our youth. It’s essential to use a moisturizer with SP factors, but there’s a secret: reapply often.
No, it won’t help to buy skin care products with a higher SP factor.
As The Cavalier Daily Six common skin care myths | reports:
“Myth 1: The higher the SPF, the better.
Fact: While an SPF 30 sunscreen blocks 96 percent of UV rays, an SPF of 15 blocks about 94 percent — just a two percent difference. Regardless of whether you use an SPF 10, 30 or 50, they all wear off within a few hours. Thus, reapplying sunscreen is key.”
My regular daily moisturizer is by Jurlique; it’s an amazing product. Not only does it feel great on, but is the best base for makeup I’ve found. It’s only an SP 15, but that’s enough — I wear a hat and sunglasses too.
Collagen Skin Care Creams: Fill out Lines and Wrinkles
Are you seeing fine facial lines and wrinkles? It’s scary the first time you look in the mirror and see these first signs of aging. However, there are skin care creams which can help.
Many of the most popular creams contain collagen as an ingredient, and claim to increase your skin’s elasticity and moisture content.
Other creams contain ingredients which are designed to increase your body’s production of collagen. However, since these creams are sold as cosmetics, they’re not subjected to rigorous testing.
That said, many women believe that they work, and that their skin looks and feels tighter, and that lines have been smoothed out.
1. What’s Collagen?
Basically, collagen is part of the strong connective tissue which supports both skin and muscle. It stops your facial skin from sagging. As you age, collagen levels decline right throughout the body. On your face, lines and eventually wrinkle forms because the skin droops, since it’s losing its ability to support itself.
Collagen is used extensively in dentistry and surgery, recently it’s been the primary ingredient in creating artificial skin for burns victims.
2. Skin Care Creams With Collagen
Although collagen has been a popular skin care ingredient for decades, in recent years companies have poured millions of dollars into research, to ensure that their creams work effectively.
You’ll often see that collagen is a primary ingredient in popular skin care creams and they seem to work for many people.
3. How Long Before You See Results?
Expect to use a cream for at least fourteen days before you see results, with best results taking at least eight weeks.

Dry skin care: honey helps

Honey is good for you — all of you, including your skin. Many skincare product manufacturers add honey to their products, because honey is a natural moisturizer. It draws water out of the air, so that your skin looks and feels fresh.
I’m a Burt’s Bees addict. I have many of their products, and find that their hand creams are wonderful, especially the Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme.
Here’s an easy recipe for a facial skin care honey mask. If you have extremely dry skin, triple the quantities, and use the mask as a body scrub.
Facial skincare rescue: honey and oatmeal mask
If your skin tends to redness, or is very dry, this mask will help. Take a tablespoon of honey, and a tablespoon of oatmeal, and mix. Apply to your skin, and leave it for ten minutes (lie down and rest while the mask works.)
Rinse off with a facecloth and warm water.
Your Facial Skin Care Routine for Mature Skin
Facial skin care is especially important for mature skin. No one can completely avoid the aging process, but you can easily postpone it or slow it down considerably by following a simple wrinkle treatment program.
1. Clean your face every day. No matter how old you are, every day dirt and pollutants build up on your face and they need to be cleared away, perhaps even twice daily. Use a cleaner made for dry or sensitive skin.
2. Exfoliate. Exfoliation simply means wiping away the dead surface skin cells to make way for fresh new ones so your face looks younger. Look for an exfoliant designed for sensitive skin; these will be gentler so you can use them every day if you feel the need.
3. Wear a moisturizing mask. It’s amazing the difference wearing a mask can make, even if you only wear it for ten minutes every week. Your face will look and feel years younger.
4. Moisturize. As we age, the dermis layer of the skin makes less collagen, so your face loses elasticity. That’s when dryness sets in, along with lines and wrinkles. Apply a moisturizer every day and every night. Good moisturizers will have such ingredients as Vitamin E, alpha hydroxyl acid, retinol and a sunscreen.
5. Eat right. Your body needs whole grains, protein, fruits and vegetables in order to function. If you are eating the right foods, it will show in your skin. Likewise, if you eat the wrong foods. Look especially for foods rich in vitamin A, B-complex vitamins and essential fatty acids.
6. Drink plenty of water. Your skin needs water, especially in your face. Drink at least eight 8 oz glasses every day.
7. Stop smoking. Many studies have proven that smoking accelerates skin aging. Yet another reason to give up the habit.
8. Wear sunscreen. If your daytime moisturizer does not have sunscreen, be sure to apply some every time you go outside. It should have an SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 15 to be effective.
9. Relax. Tension shows up in your face as fine lines and wrinkles. When you feel anxious, take a few minutes for yourself. Close your eyes and take several long, slow deep breaths. Say to yourself Relax. Let all the tension release from your forehead, your eyes and your jaw.
10. See a dermatologist. If you have rashes, eczema or other skin conditions, see a dermatologist, so that they can be accurately and thoroughly treated without causing further damage. The dermatologist can create a wrinkle treatment program especially for your needs.
11. Don’t use soap and water. Soap is notoriously drying on your face. If you do get soap on your face, rinse it off thoroughly with warm water. Pat your skin dry, don’t rub it.
Wrinkles are a part of the aging process. Wrinkle treatment thus needs to be part of your everyday hygiene regimen. By taking these easy steps, even if you can’t be younger, you will definitely look younger.
Acne Skin Care: Five Tips for Great Skin
Pimples, blackheads and other blemishes are the bane of many teens (and adults too). These are known as acne. Skin care should be a daily priority for those who want to be acne free. Here are five tips to give you the clearest skin possible.
1. Wash daily, but don’t overdo it. Wash your face twice daily, using warm water and a mild cleanser made for acne. Follow the product’s directions carefully. Twice daily cleansing should be enough to keep your face free of oil-build up, so don’t clean it more often than that. And don’t scrub: Use gentle circular motions to avoid irritating your sensitive skin. Don’t share or re-use acne skin care products.
If the particular cleanser you are using doesn’t seem to be working, stop using it and try something else. Don’t mix treatments unless directed to do so by a dermatologist or risk causing further skin damage.
2. Don’t touch your face. It’s very tempting to keep touching your skin to ensure that your cleaning regime is working. However, the oil from your fingers will make your skin more prone to breaking out. Keep your hair out of your face too, for the same reason. Clean your glasses daily as well.
3. Watch what you eat: choose a healthy diet. While there is some dispute as to whether chocolate, pizza and other junk food causes acne, at least one study seems to indicate that there is a correlation. Professor Neil Mann of Australia’s RMIT University and staff at the Royal Melbourne Hospital studied forty-three young men, between the ages of 15 and 25. One group was given foods whole grains, legumes and protein. Another group was fed a more “typical” teenage diet consisting of white bread, potatoes, and sugary drinks and snacks. After 12 weeks, acne in the first group reduced by 50 percent. The results seem to suggest a link between diet and acne.
4. Go natural. There are several natural remedies you can use to cure a breakout. These are convenient and will save you money. You probably have many of them in your house right now. Try rubbing garlic over a pimple or making a mask with any of the following: honey; pureed onions; sea salt mixed with egg white; or yogurt.
One note, however: While tanning is natural and many people feel that it dries up acne, tanning can actually cause your skin to produce more sebum, the oil on the surface of the skin. Thus tanning can make acne worse and possibly lead to skin cancer in the future.
5. Learn how to handle stress. Anger, anxiety, depression and other negative emotions can trigger chemical reactions that end up irritating your skin. By learning healthy ways to manage stress, such as journaling, deep breathing exercises, listening to music, walking etc., you’re actually doing your skin a favor as well.
Acne skin care may seem complicated but soon these common-sense tips will be second nature. Your skin will thank you.
